Online Therapy for Women

Your first therapy session will involve thorough information gathering in the biopsychosocial model. We focus on presenting symptoms, length and severity of symptoms and an understanding of ongoing stressors. Understanding past treatments (what may or may not have worked), family and relational history helps provide a deeper understanding of your unique situation.

Online Medication Management for Women

Medication management sessions begin with full biopsychosocial intake which includes current symptoms and a full understanding of ongoing stressors. Further information regarding medical history, past treatments (what worked, what didn’t), allergies, and family history is gathered. At times, standardized testing may be recommended. When information gathering is complete, we will discuss treatment options which may include medications. Decision making around medications include the impact of current stressors on your life and relationships, potential benefits of meditations, risks, side effects and alternatives. Each individual is unique and our goal is to discuss risks, benefits, side effects and alternatives and help you make the best choice for you.

Online Birth Trauma Therapy & Counseling for Women

Birth trauma is the distress that a mother undergoes during the birth of their child. This can be either physical or emotional, and it can have to do with the various parts of their pregnancy journey, including but not limited to the act of birth. Often, mothers have an idea of how things are going to go. It is normal to feel disappointed when the reality does not match expectations. However, a traumatic birth experience refers to how the mother is left feeling due to the labor and delivery. Birth trauma can emerge immediately during the event or develop sometime after the event. Unfortunately, a traumatic birth experience is often missed, especially in the case of an “overall good outcome.” While a healthy baby and healthy mom is the goal, sometimes important emotional trauma is overlooked.

Infertility Therapy

Infertility can feel deeply isolating, in part because it often seems like other couples have an easy time conceiving. But this is not always the case. In fact, infertility is actually fairly common, with approximately 9 percent of men and 11 percent of women of reproductive age in the United States reporting trouble conceiving

Maternal and Reproductive Mental Health Counselor

Maternal health during reproduction is managed by the mother as well as her team of support. This support system typically includes her partner or family and her obstetrician. Obstetricians are medical doctors that are trained to monitor for routine needs during pregnancy. Visits occur at varying frequencies during the pregnancy and follow national ACOG guidelines for screenings and care. Often after a positive pregnancy test, there is a confirmatory ultrasound between 6-12 weeks. The main milestones in the first-trimester care are an ultrasound and or cell-free DNA testing depending on the mother’s age and health and their personal preferences regarding screening. At 20 weeks, an anatomy scan is routinely done. This scan visualizes in greater detail the development of the fetus and assesses for any areas of concern. As the pregnancy progresses, there is a glucose screening test and further monitoring of the mom and baby to ensure everything is on track.
