Tell us about yourself: What do you do for a living, where do you live, what do you do outside of work for personal passion projects, fun or anything else.

As the CEO of Oura, I spend the majority of my time working or traveling for work. I do my best to keep a healthy routine of exercise, sleep, and eating well as best I can. I live in San Francisco, and I walk to the office most days, and I try to get at least three workouts in each week. I mostly row and run for exercise, though recently I've been investing in strength training. For fun, I play backgammon and guitar.

What role does health and wellness play in your life?

Given that I am CEO of a health and wellness company, I spend a lot of time thinking about ways to make a positive impact on the world of health. I also focus on helping my family members on their health journeys and encouraging my children to form healthy habits. My own health journey has been transformative—fitness has brought balance and joy into my life, while improvements in my sleep habits have completely changed my energy and focus. It feels like moving from black and white to 4K technicolor. I feel fortunate that my personal passions align with my work.

Tell us about your health protocol. What do you do to invest in your own health and wellness - be it your fitness and nutrition protocols, supplements, mental health, or other initiatives that you employ to achieve your best self?

I walk to work most days. On the weekends, I run, row, and go to the gym. If I can, I’ll fit in one more workout during the week. I supplement with magnesium for sleep and take a selection of longevity-focused supplements each morning. I try to minimize sugar, caffeine, and alcohol while maintaining a healthy balance of proteins, fiber, and carbohydrates. I follow a 16-hour fasting protocol most days. Whenever possible, I get a massage and sauna session for recovery. I swear by my percussive massager and always incorporate stretching. I also practice breathwork to manage stress. Beyond that, I’ve experimented with various wellness practices, from cold plunges to infrared therapy.

What piece of advice would you offer someone just starting out on their health journey?
